My Approach

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all all approach as you will bring with you a unique set of experiences and needs. You know yourself best - you are the expert in your own life! Together we will explore what approaches and techniques are most appropriate for you.

These are just a few examples of how we can work together (this is not a complete list):

*identifying how your thoughts, emotions and behaviors shape

how you view yourself, others and the world around you

*learning how your physical body and nervous system are

connected to your emotional and mental experience

*identification of your spiritual needs and any blocks

*exploration of how past experiences contribute to your

current struggles or challenges

*learning how to work with specific emotions through

purposeful movement of body

*learning effective communication and interpersonal skills

to help create more positive interactions with others

*identifying specifc tools to help regulate emotions and

tolerate distress

Throughout our time together I will regularly seek your feedback about your session and if it is working for you. The time you spend with me in session is YOUR TIME. You will never be forced to talk about anything you don't want to talk about and you will never be forced or locked into one specific approach - as you grow and change, I will adjust my approach according to your present need.

You may not believe this right now but you already have the inner resources and power to create positive change that is long lasting and deeply meaningful!

I draw from a variety of modalities, depending on specific needs, including:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Narrative Therapy

Existential Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy

Movement Based Therapy

Reality Therapy

Solution Focused Therapy

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. ~Emerson
